This may be the first year that I've been excited about Halloween in a long time. Who knows why, but I lost my desire to dress up somewhere in the 5th grade. Not that I dressed up this year either, but having kids does bring you back to the fun times Halloween brings. Think about it, a holiday whose only purpose is to have a little fun dressed up as your favorite things while eating candy can't be all bad! (We'll just skip over the original pagan intents since the kiddos are only 5 and 3 right now!)
Luckily, Brandon's friend, Nikki, has a mom who loves all holidays and loves throwing parties. So, off we went to our first real Halloween party with friends. The boys played games, had a photo shoot (pictures to come later) and hit the pinata. Noah was not interested at all in the pinata until he heard there was candy inside. Then, he gamely took his turn, only to ask once done, "is my candy still inside?"
Later today, Brandon and Dave sat down to carve our one big pumpkin, while Noah and I set to making pumpkin bread, his favorite. A perfect Halloween day...and we haven't even gone Trick or Treating yet!
