Grandparent time

Visiting my grandparents has always been a favorite, and I truly do mean favorite activity of mine. Why else would I load up 2 boys in a car and drive 8 hours across Arizona and California with only a couple of lattés to keep me company. Well, lattés and two kids asking for snacks, movies, and for me to pick up every book and toy they dropped on the trip. And yet, the visit was completely worth it, and I would and will do it again. Soon.

Nothing beats waking up to smiling faces excited to see your two crazy, highly energetic boys tear around their house. Speaking of energetic, I don't remember being allowed to jump on my grandparent's couches, but maybe being a great-grandparent makes you realize that a couch is just a couch and boys having fun is undoubtedly priceless.

The boys spent their days playing with blocks, ringing bells, hopping rocks (while watching for snakes, a skill that every desert dweller must realize at an early age!), and stomping rockets.

It's amazing to me that Noah seems to feel the namesake bond with his Great-Grandpa even at this young age. He consistently asked if Great-Grandpa wanted to join us on our outdoor ventures and was certain to close the day with a hug and a good-night just for him.

All in all, a fun time for them. And an especially fun time for me. I enjoyed calm conversation with both of my grandparents while nursing a coffee addiction. Well, really it was a Keurig addiction. Grandma's new coffee machine was just too easy and fun to use! So, Grandma, warm that baby up...we'll be coming back as soon as we can!
