After our week of sickness, we decided to escape the 114 degree heat and trek up to the Mogollon rim hoping we could spend at least one day enjoying the outdoors. Kevin, Laurie, Mandy, Mike, Kyle, and Tyler joined us and we found an empty site at the Aspen Campground right next to Woods Canyon Lake. Unfortunately, our neighbors had a different view of "camping" and played loud music the entire day while yelling out the clues for Pictionary late into the night. Whatever happened to a nice calm conversation over s'mores and a campfire? But we didn't let that distract us from our pursuit of nice weather, hiking, and some fun family time!
When we arrived, Brandon was the most willing helper ever and assisted Dave in the entire process of righting the tent.

Noah's favorite activity (aside from golf) was playing in the dirt. Kevin was worried that we may be charged an extra fee for the amount of earth Noah was taking home with him on his hands, his face, his clothes, his toys...everywhere but his belly!

We all had a fun time hiking and relaxing in the outdoors and it was a well spent 30 hours in the mountains. Now, if we could just find a way to get the kids to actually SLEEP at night!
