A trip to Brophy

A few weeks ago, my dad and grandmother came for a short visit. The main reason for the trip was to cheer on Mike Marcisz at an ASU game. A side event was a private tour of Brophy College Preparatory. My grandmother's father built the chapel and many of the school buildings on the campus and we wanted to get another glimpse inside of this iconic structure during their visit.

The staff and especially the president of Brophy, Father Reese, S.J. were thrilled to meet Grandma and carved an hour of time out of their day to show us the campus!

Grandma and Father Reese checking out a staged photo showing the interior of the gym after it was built with her father as a basketball referee.

Father Reese zipped us around in his Hummer-like golf cart donated by a parent.

The buildings are amazing, the structures sound. My great grandfather was quite the builder!
The staff treated us like royalty and I was thrilled that Grandma could see the chapel again in such an intimate setting.

Wouldn't it be amazing if our boys managed to go to the same school their great great grandfather built? I'll be certain to include that picture of Noah driving the President's golf cart in his application, you can be sure of that!

Such a very special event for all, wish I (Mom) was there! Maybe we can do it again when Brandon is ready to go there!
