School for Noah and a Little Chef Magic

Last week our little boy went off to preschool.

That means mommy has three days a week where she has two whole kid-less hours. It sounds luxurious, but also just a little bit sad. As excited as I am for Noah to be off to school having fun with his peers, I feel a little like a ship lost at sea, wondering what to do with my time now that my whole reason for being home is no longer home with me.

Don't fret, though. I'm sure I'll think of something.

Last week we did a little cooking. The boys attended a Young Chef's Academy class where they made Chicken Crescent Pockets and "Sealed with a Kiss" muffins. Brandon could barely contain his excitement when he asked me to "guess, just guess!" what was inside of that strawberry muffin. Nothing better than strawberries and chocolate, that's for certain.

Near the end of the week, Noah's friend, Emi, came over and we did a little baking. After baking our play cookies in the play oven, we decided it was time to create the real thing so we could eat those sweet treats for real. Both kids were so great about being careful with the measuring, though I did see Emi sneak a little extra sugar into the mix. No wonder they tasted to great!

We topped off the week with a trip to the baseball game. This may have been the first regular season game that we actually stayed until the end. And the only reason that successfully happened was due to the promise of fireworks at game's end. Because for these boys, baseball is all about food. Who cares what's going on in the diamond. I cared quite a bit, though, when home run came right over our heads. Brandon was just a little bit upset that I pushed his head down and tried to climb up over both kiddos to protect them with my body. Just so you're not worried, it landed a good 10 rows back, at least. Good thing I'm not an outfielder...I was certain it was coming right for us.
